Bathurst, home of Ben Chifley, motor racing and education, is an essential destination on anyone's holiday calendar for a visit or a lifetime.  Located approximately two and a half hours west of Sydney, Bathurst has something to offer everyone.

Being Australia's first inland settlement, a rich history is evident throughout Bathurst and surrounding districts that includes the Wiradjuri people, convicts and the gold rush days.  Bathurst boosts a population of 37,000 (2005) which represents a 1.2% growth from the previous year.

Mt Panorama is one of Bathurst main landmarks, a motor racing circuit home for Australia's big races. The petrol heads can meet and watch the big 5 litre category is in November.

Mount Panorama is a public road which means drivers need to obey the speed limit when taking a drive around the circuit outside race meets.

The district is scattered with reserves which conserve the natural landscapes including the enormous Kanangra Boyd National Park and impressive Evans Crown from where surveyor Evans first sighted the Bathurst plains. The magnificent Jenolan Caves and the spectacular Abercrombie Caves preserve some of Australia's most magnificent limestone formations.
